Move

I am not going to lie to you. I am emotionally attached to my body. It’s something that has been with me since taking dance when I was 8 years old. How I feel in my skin affects my mood. When I’m feeling bloated and groggy, I feel like shit and it is incredibly hard to shake the feeling. When I’m feeling lean and light, I’m ready to rule the world with pizzazz and shine as bright as possible!

My workouts are personal to me because they provide a place and a space for me to cultivate my inner strength by exercising my physical strength. Not only do my workouts challenge my body, they also feed and fuel my mind. When I am working out, I feel more creative, more powerful and yes, even more sexy. When I am able to push past my physical thresholds, I am able to show myself that I can do anything I put my mind to. My workout is my exercise for my spirit. It’s kind of like an active meditation. I am able to strengthen my soul as I strengthen my body. If this is seen as an addiction, I don’t care, because my body, mind and spirit all work together with a harmonic balance. It’s my holy trinity, if you will.

I love my body, because I view it as a work-of-art I take pride in sculpting. It wasn’t always this way. I always carried a little extra ‘love’ here and there. This had nothing to do with my body, but everything to do with my nutrition. Once that was shaped, I was able to fine tune my body. I am proud I am physically and love dressing up and yes, even struttin’ a little, from time to time. Through all the hard work, I now stand taller, I feel smarter and feel sexy! Who doesn’t want to feel like that sexy creature walking the runway, stopping traffic, with everyone turning to see ‘wow, who…is…that? We are all capable of being our own ‘it girl!’ And hey, we should never apologize for being awesome.

Exercise can have many goals: movement, meditation, increasing strength or endurance are a few examples. Maybe you want to finish a 5k, compete in a fitness competition, or simply touch your toes!
